- Institute Jerónimo Zurita (Zaragoza) - Institute Šaca (Košice) :

30 May - 3 June 2004

The Consulate iniciates and helps organizing the collaboration between the Institute Jeronimo Zurita, Zaragoza (Spain) and the Institute Šaca, Košice (Slovakia)

This project of collaboration and the first meeting between both institutes turned out to be very successful thanks to the mutual interest that showed both institutes and also thanks to the intervention of our Honorary Consulate in Zaragoza, as mediator acting as a catalyst between both of them.

Welcoming act in the Institute Jerónimo Zurita

During the three days full of activities, the Slovak students from Košice were welcomed by their spanish collegues of the Institute Jeronimo Zurita. The Director, Mr. Marino Andrés and the teachers Mr. José Luis Bello and Mr. Jose Luis Paniego prepared a very interesting and complete program. More than 30 students from Slovakia attended the different classes, took part in the Spanish activities, learned about the history of Zaragoza and its surroundings... They also enjoyed a theatre performance by Spanish students and, above all, they could practice and improve their Spanish.

Both parts got the best memories, wonderful experiences and the wish of keeping in touch in order to fortify the relationship through new meetings and projects.

20 – 29 October 2004

Participation of the Consulate in the Course: “The European Projects face the incorporation from new countries into the European Union”, at the “ Teacher`s and Resources Center of the Department of Education, Culture and Sports of the Government of Aragón (DGA).

Our Consulate collaborated with the Center by preparing a large presentation: “Slovakia: Educative System, European Projects and Cultural Relations” celebrated on October 21st.

Honorary Consul ,Mr. Jean Paul Bastiaans, with Mr. José Luis Bello.

This presentation, in addition to the Slovakian educative system, also treated the changes and the challenges that have arisen during 11 years of the independence of our young country and, mainly, after the entrance of Slovakia into the UE.
Slovakia was also the main subject of the meetings during the following days, and above all the practical experiences of the teachers with their international interchanges between Slovaks and Spanish people, both institutional and working with adults.

The result of the meetings is the wish to fortify the collaboration through new encounters and projects in common. In addition, the strong interest of the teachers to begin the contacts with the educative Centers in Slovakia and the congratulations for the large pictures-gallery prepared by the Consulate, was the best recognition of our work.

visita_estudiantes1

The second visit of Slovak students from Košice to Zaragoza.

Welcoming act in the Jerónimo Zurita High School.

A group of  37 Slovak students from the High School  šaca in Košice could enjoy  three days full of activity visiting their friends from the Spanish High School of Jeronimo Zurita in Zaragoza.

The realization of the stay of Slovaks was possible thanks to the effort of teachers of both parts, especially Jose Luis Bello. Our Consulate served like a mediator/ccordinator between both of them.

They could enjoy different activities like a visit to the monuments of the city and other  nice places of Zaragoza, visit the classrooms and learn more about the system of education in Spain. They also had fun – in the pirogues in the Ebro  river.

The  slovaks were leaving Zaragoza with wonderful experiences and with one wish: to be able to spend some time with their Spanish friends in their native country –  Slovakia, in Košice.
